No heartbeat LED and DS1 is lit steady on the driver, Failed driver

Potential Symptoms

  • DS4 (heartbeat) is off on the driver.
  • DS1 (Com port status) is lit on the driver.
  • When the DM-100 is connected to the display it will state either Sign 1 Line 1 not found or Com Error.
  • When trying to detect displays using the DM-100 will get the following error: Error - Display DNR CMND 255 and then a Com Error.
  • Display is blank, no price on sign - some of the digits may come on for a short time but will eventually go blank.

  • Product Family: Fuelight 3000/4500
  • Product: FL-3000, FL-4500, FLW-3000
  • Component: Gas Price or Petroleum Price Display, FL digit product
  • Control System: 

Cause

  • Suspect possible short on communication jack of the driver has occurred causing the driver to go into a failed state. 

        Note: Power to sign should be off when hooking up communication options for the displays.

Resolution

  • Replace Driver.
