Primary primary, no communication to either display, good loopback out of first controller

Potential Symptoms

  • No communication from customer computer to either display even though both controllers are correctly addressed (HW1 and HW2). * HW = Hardware
  • Loopback passes on output of first controller (TB3 RS422 OUT). * TB = Terminal Block
  • With output of first controller (TB3 RS422 OUT) disconnected, can communicate with first display controller.
  • 6 Conductor cable (Interconnect) between display controllers is wired correctly at output of first controller and on input of second controller.
  • Primary primary, no communication to either display, good loopback out of first controller

Environment

  • Galaxy Primary/Primary display
  • M2, M3
  • Serial communication

Cause

  • Interconnect cable is connected to incorrect location on controller (Should be on TB3 OUT of first controller and on the TB2 IN on the second controller).
    • Example:  both ends connected to TB3 OUT.

Resolution

  • Remove TB plug out of incorrect port and plug into the correct port location on the controller/s.
