  • Venus 1500 error logs and see error:
    • Object references not set to an instance of an object.

Environment

  • Venus 1500 v4
  • Windows XP

Cause

  • There is a bug in the .NET Framework that is conflicting with the application text box. The bug is fixed within .NET Framework 4.0, but Venus 1500 v4.17 or lower do not use .NET Framework 4.0.

 

Resolution

  • Update to 4.20.4 or higher

Work Around

Disable Advanced Text Services.
  1. Go to Windows Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options.
  2. Click on the Language Tab.
  3. Click on the Details button.
  4. Click on the Advanced Tab.
  5. Check off Turn off advanced text services.
  6. Launch Venus 1500 v4 again.
