Potential Symptoms

  • When launching Venus 1500 v4 receiving error:
    • An Error occurred while logging in. There was not endpoint listening at net.pipe://localhost/Daktronics/Nucleus/NucleusEventsServices that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details.

Cause

The actual  cause is unknown.

Check 1: Verify that the Venus 1500 v4 software is fully registered.

  1. Click Register on the Username and Password Prompt.
    1. If any of the components are expired while some are still trial or full, you will need to register the software properly. Please follow DD2194981 on how to register your Venus 1500 v4.

Check 2: Verify and check to see if the Daktronics Nucleus Server certificate is corrupted.

  • Please follow DD1723807 on how to verify if a certificate issue and how to repair.

Check 3: Go check the Nucleus Error logs for the following error.
  1. Go to Windows Start Menu -> Computer/My Computer.
  2. Navigate to the following address:
    • 32 Bit System: C:\Program Files\Daktronics\Nucleus Server\Log
    • 64 Bit System: C:\Program Files (x86)\Daktronics\Nucleus Server\Logs
  3. If you see the same error, proceed to the resolution.
    • Error: The contract name 'Daktronics.Nucleus.ServiceContract.IDeviceManagementService4' could not be found in the list of contracts implemented by the service 'DeviceManagementService'

Resolution

Update the Venus 1500 v4 software to the latest version.
