Billboard display intermittently loses calibration, DB-1000 Series

Potential Symptoms

  • Display reverts to an uncalibrated state or appears to have lost calibration.
  • intensity.bin file is intact on the controller. 

Environment

  • Product: AF-2014, DB-1000

Cause

  • One or more of the MLC's were reset of power cycled.
    • Calibration data is stored in volatile memory of each MLC of the display. If a reset event occurs (display face power cycle or soft reset of an individual MLC) this calibration data is lost and must be retransmitted from the VLink 1500.

Resolution

  • Reset the VLink 1500.
    • A hard power cycle or soft reset through VLink 1500 Management Studio will yield the same results.
    • For added verification, review the event history within IDM for existence of an MLC reset event.
