Potential Symptoms
- When opening the Venus 1500 v4 software after installing, get the following error:
- "
Application has generated an exception that could not be handled
Process ID=0x770(1904), thread ID=0x92c (2348)" - No errors given in Event viewer.
- Daktronics folder missing in Application Data.
- Running a repair on Venus software has no effect.
Environment
- Venus 1500 v4.17 (installing from download full version file)
- Windows XP Service Pack 3
- Windows Update has not been run recently
Cause
- Suspect an issue with the .NET 3.5 Framework.
Resolution
Option 2: If no resolution, run Windows Updates and verify all critical updates have been installed (may have to run this several times with system restarts between installations of updates)
