Message Display, Temperature message displays -196, NA, DC, or is blank on the Message Center

Potential Symptoms

  • Temperature/Temp message displays -196, NA , DC, or is blank on the Message Center.
  • No sign of a temp sensor installed on the display.  See picture for what temp sensor looks like and how it connects to the display.

Cause

  • Temperature sensor was never installed or purchased.

Resolution

  • Install temperature sensor.
    • Call Daktronics to order one if one is not present.
    • If no sensor will be installed:
      1. Edit message to remove temperature data field from message content.
      2. Save edited message.
      3. Publish edited playlist.
