NFL or NHL Interface and DSTI, "New database installation detected" & "Update Failed" DSTI Errors

Potential Symptoms

  • When attempting to open the Daktronics Scoring-Timing Interface (DSTI) application or the NFL Interface application, database error messages such as the ones shown below appear:

    "New database installation detected. Please restart DakStats and try again."
    failed[1].jpg
    "Update Failed!!! Could not create a copy of the template season database."

Environment

  • Daktronics Scoring Timing Interface (DSTI)
  • NFL Interface or NHL Interface

Cause

  • The NFL Season database is out of date and causes DSTI to display an error message, even when it is not being used with the NFL Interface.

Resolution

  1. Go to https://dakfiles.daktronics.com/downloads/Sports_Products/NFL Interface/
  2. Download the "NFLSeason.zip" file to the Tools folder.
  3. Unzip the NFLSeason.mdb file to C:\ProgramData\Daktronics\NFL Interface\NFLSeason\ (or C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Daktronics\NFL Interface\NFLSeason for XP). **Note: If the folder doesn't exist look at C:\Program Files\Daktronics\NFL Interface\NFLSeason**
  4. Exit and reopen DSTI.
