Getting no signal voltage out of the 25 pin signal cable on the All Sport 5000

Potential Symptoms

  • Getting no voltage out of 25 pin signal jack on the All Sport 5000

Environment

  • Scoreboard
  • AS-5000
  • 25 Pin Signal Cable

Cause

  • A 25 pin Null Modem cable is being used. This cable only connects pins 2,3, and 7. So no connections are present on the required pins.

Resolution

  • Use a 25 pin straight through cable.

Work Around

 

  • Take a 1/4 inch stereo phone cable out of J1,J2, or J3 and wire that into the J-box instead if the scoreboard is an addressable scoreboard or converting to fiber. 

 

Note:  If the scoreboard is non-addressable, wire connections for CurrentLoop1, CurrentLoop2, and CurrentLoop3 to phone jacks J1,J2,and J3 respectively.
