Cause

  • There is an error with Microsoft Windows Installer and/or the Windows Installer service is not started.

Resolution

Note: If below does not resolve issue it would be recommended to get an IT professional to troubleshoot further as this is an Operating System error not specific to Daktronics software.

Windows XP
  1. Go to Windows Start Menu -> Run -> Type services.msc -> Ok.
  2. If run is not an option, right-click on My Computer, choose Manage. Go to Services & Applications -> Services.
  3. Locate the following service:
    • Windows Installer.
  4. Right-click and choose Start.
  5. Try installing Venus 1500 v4 again.
Windows Vista or 7
  1. Go to Windows Start Menu.
  2. In the bottom search bar type: Services
    • Services will filter into the Windows Start Menu.
  3. Click on Services with the gears in front.
  4. Locate the following service:
    • Windows Installer.
  5. Right-click and choose Start.
  6. Try installing Venus 1500 v4 again.

Windows 8 (No classic start menu)

  1. Hover mouse on the right side of the desktop, click on the Magnifying Glass icon.
  2. Type services.msc in the search box and hit [enter].
  3. Locate the following service:
    • Windows Installer.
  4. Right-click and choose Start.
  5. Try installing Venus 1500 v4 again.
