GP3, Two messages are showing partial frames from each other at the beginning of their play sequence

Potential Symptoms

  • Two messages are showing partial frames from each other at the beginning of their play sequence.
    • When one of the two messages with the issue is removed from the schedule the problem will not appear on the remaining message.
  • Content is bleeding onto each other on the display.
  • Phantom images popping up at random.
  • Occurs on animated messages with transitions only.
  • Content may loop multiple times before seeing the phantom message or affect.
  • While playing multiple videos on a GP3 display, artifacts are left on the display.

Environment

  • GalaxyPro
  • GP3
  • DMP-4060 Player (firmware 1.9.84 or lower)
  • Electronic Message Center (EMC), Marquee, Electronic Message Board (EMB), Display
  • Venus 1500 version 4

Cause

  • Fixed an issue with video playback while using transitions on back to back videos within the firmware.

Resolution

  • Update firmware to 1.10.14 or higher on the DMP-4060 player.

Work Around

  • Remove transitions from messages in playlists.
