D-Link Driver Install failing, Lost driver signature.

Potential Symptoms

  • No lights will light on the D-Link
  • In Device Manager, D-link shows up with an alert "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)."
  • Manually installing the drivers from online or CD fails
  • Driver Update fails

  • Product Family: Message Displays
  • Product: Galaxy, AF-3500, AF-3550
  • Component: D-Link USB to Ethernet adaptor, Windows 7.
  • Control System:

    Cause

    • Driver signature required for driver to operate properly, and the driver somehow lost its signature

    Resolution

    • Note: be sure to verify what revision D-link you have by checking the manufacturer sticker on the D-link. The revisions are either A, B, C or D.
    1. Uninstall driver in device manager
    2. Unplug and re-plug in the D-Link on the computer
    3. Manually search and install drivers from online
    4. Change IP address to be compatible with display
