When sending message to display in Venus 1500 v3 receive error 'Message type doesn't match its type in the file path:'

Potential Symptoms

  •  When sending message in Venus get following alert / error:

"Message [Sign Type.GAL.M2] doesn't match its type in the file path:"
C:\...(file path for particular message in database)
"Do you want to attempt sending the message anyway?"

Environment

  •  Venus 1500 v3

Cause

Sign settings don't match what was used when creating the content. Or the display configuration was recently changed and messages from an old display configuration was copied and pasted to the new sign configuration folder.

For example: Message was created for a GALAXY 32x144 32k. Then the display configuration was change to a different configuration of GALPRO 32x144 RGB. When this is done, the messages created as a GALAXY 32k cannot be used in a GAL PRO RGB unless each frame is copied and pasted into a new message being created under the new display configuration and re-saved. See resolution for steps.

Resolution

Option 1: Recreate message in the proper display configuration.

  • Follow Directions in User Manual

Option 2: Copy and paste all frames from the old message and save in a new message.

  1. Launch Venus 1500 Message Studio.
  2. Click File -> Open, browse and select message in question, click Open.
  3. Click the first frame listed on the right-side panel, hold Shift, scroll and single click the last frame.
    1. This should automatically highlight all frames listed.Right-click on a frame and choose Copy Frame(s).
  4. Click File -> New, select correct display type configuration.
  5. Right-click on the frame panel and chose Paste Frame(s).
  6. Click File -> Save.
