Environment

  • Product Family: Software
  • Product: Venus 1500 (4.17)
  • Component: Windows XP
  • Control System: Venus 1500 v4

Cause

  • The software is designed to go to a specific location for fonts which is C:\Windows\Fonts. However the computer does not have a 'Windows' folder, instead it has a WINNT folder. WINNT Folder is what the windows folder was called when using Windows NT or 2000. When the computer was upgraded from Windows NT or 2000 to Windows XP, the upgrade does not change the folder name to Windows or make a new folder. Instead, it remains as WINNT.
    • Note: Venus 1500 v4 software does not know to search in C:\WINNT, because our software only has support in Windows XP, Vista or 7. This is a bug in our software, and will be fixed by engineering in a later release.

Resolution

  • Update to the latest Version of Venus 1500 v4.
    • Follow DD1993540 on how to update to the latest software Version of 4.18 and greater.
