Scoreboards Flickering when all radio consoles are turned on, Sync-To-Channel Issue

Potential Symptoms

  • Scoreboards are flickering when all radio consoles are turned on.
  • Console will have strong signal strength, but customer may see delays or skipping.

Environment

  • Product: Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Scoreboard
  • Component: All Sport 5000 firmware v2.3.6 or higher (3-18-2010), All Sport 5500 firmware v1.1.0 or higher (3-12-2010)
  • Control System: All Sport 5000, All Sport 5500

Cause

  • Console has a sync-to-channel setting turned off causing consoles to interfere with one another.

Resolution

  1. Press MENU.
  2. Arrow down until the LCD screen displays "MENU- MAIN ENTER DISPLAY MENU?" and press ENTER/YES.
  3. Arrow down until the screen displays "MENU-DISPLAY SYNC TO CHAN" and press ENTER/YES.
  4. Press 1 to turn on sync to channel, otherwise press 2 to turn it off (not recommended normally).

For Temporary Operation

  • Adjust broadcast and channel settings on the radio receivers so that radio settings are separated more.
    • For example, if one scoreboard is set to Broadcast 1, Channel 01 (B1, C1) and the 2nd scoreboard is set to B1, C2; set the 2nd scoreboard to B1, C8 or change the Broadcast Group to 2 (i.e. B2,C1) or something of that sort.
