  • Receive the following error when installing or updating Venus 1500 v4
    • '.', hexadecimal value 0x00, is an invalid character. Line 1, position 1.

Cause

  • The Nucleus Server.exe.config file is corrupt and has no date within the file.

Resolution

  1. First, verify the issue following the steps below.
  2. Go to C:\Program Files\Daktronics\Nucleus Server
  3. Right-click on the Nucleus Server.exe.config.
  4. Choose Open With -> Notepad.
  5. View the contents of the Notepad.
    • If Empty and no data appears, the file is corrupted and bad. Continue to next step.
  6. Fix the issue by following these steps:
    1. Right-click on the Nucleus Server.exe.config.
    2. Click Delete
    3. Try the Venus 1500 v4 Install Again.
