M2, Serial Radios, Losing connection to the display, Power LED on J-Box is going off

Potential Symptoms

  • Losing connection to the display.
  • Power LED is off on the J-Box.
  • J-Box power adapter plug is broken or cracked.
  • Recycling power to the J-Box causes the Power LED to come on for a few minutes.
  • When J-Box power LED is on, the software can connect to the display.

Environment

  • Galaxy displays
  • Gen. 2 Serial Radios communication
  • Version 3 or 4 Venus 1500

Cause

  • Bad J-Box or power adapter plug.

Resolution

  • Replace J-box.
  • If there is visible damage to the transformer, consider replacing it as well.
