LED Light Strips: End of period lights not working when game clock equals 0

Potential Symptoms

  • End of period lights not lighting when game clock equals 0.
  • Light strips are flickering/quivering.
  • Light strip control box is producing an audible humming or buzzing.
    • This symptom can also be present with one of the transformers in a Game/Shot clock.

Environment

  • Backboard Light Strip Kit
    • BB-2135 End of Period Light Strips
  • All Sport 5000 or All Sport 3000
  • Game/Shot Clock or Light Strip Control Box

Cause

  • Dimming set in All Sport controller.

Resolution

  1. Set dimming to "None".

All Sport 5000 Directions

  1. With the console on and operation code entered (normally 1101).
  2. Press the MENU button.
  3. Arrow down until the LCD screen show:
    1. MENU-DIMMING
    2. LEVEL (0-9): ##
  4. Press 0-zero so the screen reads: LEVEL: NONE
  5. Press the MENU key to return to the main clock.

All Sport 3000 Directions

  1.  With the console on and operation code entered (normally 001).
  2. Press the CLEAR/ALT key.
  3. Press the #8/DIM key.
  4. Press 0-zero to set dimming to NONE.
  5. Press ENTER/EDIT key to return to the main clock.
