Receive error "database is unavailable" in display manager and all folders and messages are missing in Venus 1500 V3.

Potential Symptoms

  • All folders and messages are missing in Venus 1500 V3.
  • Receive error "database is unavailable" when trying to get status in display manager.

Environment

  • Venus 1500
  • Network Drive

Cause

  • The database was changed to a remote database and linked into the "Default" folder inside the local database.

Resolution

  1. First verify where the database is linked.
    1. Open Venus 1500 Administrator.
    2. Go to Edit -> Database.
  2. Change database back to local database.
    1. Click the Local Database radio button.
    2. Click Ok.
    3. Choose Yes or No to move database. If the database linked to currently has no messages or schedules, click No and this should link right back to where old messages are stored. If the database linked to currently has messages and schedules, click Yes and this will transfer all messages and schedules to the local database.
