Venus 1500 V3 update3121 Cannot find setup.exe in the temp folder

Potential Symptoms

  • When installing the Venus 1500 V3.12, update would receive the following error:
  • "Can't run 16-bit Windows Program."
    "Cannot find file C:\DOCUME~1\INSTALLER\LOCAL SETTINGS\TEMP\~EXB0000\DISK1\SETUP.EXE (or one of its components). Check to ensure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available."

Environment

  • Galaxy
  • Venus 1500 (3.8 to 3.12)
  • Windows XP

 

Cause

  • The Windows XP Service Pack 3 is not installed.
    To Verify following instructions below:
  1. From the Venus 1500 Shell, right-click the word "Venus 1500" and choose "About Venus 1500".
  2. Click the Systems tab to view what service pack is installed.

Resolution

  • Run Windows Updates to install the Service Pack 3.
