General Instructions on how to configure a VFC-3000 for GEN III Vanguard display

Potential Symptoms

  • Configure a Display that uses a Vanguard Control Board with a VFC-3000 controller.

 

Environment

  • Product Family: Transportation
  • Product: Generation III VF-2xxx Display
  • Component: Display Interface Vanguard Control Board (VCB)
  • Control System: VFC-3000 controller

Resolution

  1. You will need a site configuration drawing to complete the following, or take a look at the VCB to see what's connected to it.
  2. Login to the VFC-3000 Controller.
  3. Go to the following controller menu's to configure the Displays Settings:
    1. Configuration.
    2. System Configuration.
    3. Configure Display. 
      1. Module Type: Select the settings for the type of modules in display. 
      2. Display Type: Select type for the display being configured. 
      3. Pixel Height: Enter the pixel height for the display. 
      4. Pixel Width: Enter the pixel width for display. 
      5. Display Access: Select what type of access you are working on.
  4. Press the Cancel button and return to the Main Menu. 
  5. Go to the following controller menu's to configure the Displays Peripherals:
    1. Configuration. 
    2. Peripheral Configuration.
    3. Delete all and auto detect (this will add the temp/light sensors, mini DC I/O's and power supplies).
      1. This sign will detect that there is a VCB installed and will ask the following questions: 
      2. Doors on VCB How Many? 
      3. Surge Suppressors on VCB How Many? 
      4. Beacons on VCB? 
      5. Intake fans on VCB? 
      6. Face Fans on VCB? 
      7. Face Heaters on VCB? 
      8. Cabinet heaters on VCB? 
      9. Fan monitoring on VCB? 
      10. Number of intake fans how many?
  6. Press the Cancel button and return to the Main Menu.
  7. Go to the following controller menu's to configure the Displays Communication settings:
    1. Configuration.
    2. Communication Configuration.
    3. Ethernet Control Port.
    4. IP settings.
    5. Add IP address, Subnet and Gateway information, then press cancel. The controller will perform a soft reset, saving all the information.
  8. DO NOT PRESS THE RED RESET BUTTON or turn off the controller; this will erase the settings at this point
