VFC-3000 not displaying Power Loss message on LCD screen when unplugged

Potential Symptoms

 VFC-3000 doesn't show POWER LOSS notification message on LCD screen when unplugged from a power source.

Environment

  • Product Family: Transportation
  • Product: VF, VX, VM Display
  • Component: Vanguard software 
  • Control System: VFC-3000 controller 

Cause

  • VFC-3000 controller is 5 years old, with firmware ED-14489 rev 1.8.3936.23 on it.
  • Old product board in controller.
  • Old LCD driver board in controller.

Resolution

  • Check manufacturing date on the front of the controller.
  • Send controller to the repair center to have the product board's firmware updated, or exchange the VFC-3000 for an updated version.
