M4 Controller: GP3, Can't connect to DMP-4060 M4 controller but getting Ethernet Link on computer and controller

Potential Symptoms

  • Can't connect to DMP-4060 M4 controller, but getting Ethernet Link on computer and controller.
  • Computer is set to DHCP.
  • Display shows DHCP "daktxxxxxx" on boot up.
  • Display Finder not able to connect or see controller.
  • Ping test not successful (Request timed out).

Environment

  • GP3
  • M4 DMP-4060
  • Venus 1500

Cause

  • Computer is trying to use wireless card rather than NIC card when both are set to DHCP.

Resolution

  1. Depending on Windows OS version access Network connections.
  2. Click Advanced > Advanced Settings…
  3. Use the arrows to move the Local Area Connection connected to the display to the top of the Connections list.
  4. Click OK try connecting again if unsuccessful.
  5. Disable wireless Wi-Fi card.
    • Note: If any remote connections are being accessed through Wi-Fi, they will be lost and will need someone locally at the computer to run through next steps.
