Intermittent MLC Visual Issues, pixilation, flickering, dancing, glitching

Potential Symptoms

  • MLC section of modules showing intermittent pixilation, flickering, dancing, glitching.

Cause

  • Cat5 connections on MLC are getting loose and wearing out.
    • Cat5 connections don't hold in as well as they once did and wind blows cable around causing flickering of mods or intermittent issue.
    • Too much brown antioxidant grease on the Cat5 ends hardens over time and causes a reduction in signal.

Resolution

  • Replace the MLC.

For Temporary Operation

  • Re-seat/replace the Cat5 cables at the MLC and DD with cables that don't have too much antioxidant grease.
