Unable to import transparent images in Venus 1500 v4 it either give a white or black background.

Potential Symptoms

  • Unable to import transparent images in Venus 1500 v4 it either give a white or black background/border.
  • The image I imported had a white background in my pictures but in Content Studio shows as a black background.

Environment

  • Venus 1500 V4

Cause

  • Transparent files (image with no background fill/color) can only be imported to a GPR and GP3 series displays. Galaxy and GalaxyPro 3700 (M2 & M3) displays do not have transparent PNG support.

Resolution

  • Remove the transparent background in Photoshop and fill with desired background color.
  • Use the Content Studio drawing tools from Insert Tab to change the defaulted background color. Follow DD2044383 on how to use Drawing tools.
  • Find another image with a solid background color.
