Unable to directly connect to display, Ethernet cable plugged into RS232 jack instead of Ethernet Jack on controller
Potential Symptoms
- Connected computer to display, not able to get status or ping.
- Trying to connect directly to controller, unable to connect in Venus or M2Config.
- Display shows "Eth: No link" on boot up.
- Network connections shows "Network cable unplugged" when direct connected to controller.

- Component: M2 or M3 Controller based products, Ethernet communication
- Control System: Venus 1500 V4, V3, or M2Config
Cause
- Ethernet cable was plugged into RS232 jack (lower left) instead of Ethernet Jack (upper right) on controller.
Resolution
- Plug Ethernet cable into the J4 Ethernet jack on the controller.
