Receive error "Unable to connect to display Server" during Venus 1500 v4 launch, Corrupt config files.

Potential Symptoms

  • When launching Venus 1500 v4 getting error "Unable to connect to display Server"
  • Venus1500.Log has Error Message: CommonPlayer Events Faulted
       at System.Environment.GetStackTrace(Exception e, Boolean needFileInfo)
      • May see other "Events" that have faulted as well.
  • Errors.log has Title: ConnectionManager: Connect
    Message: Connect Failed

Cause

  • Venus 1500 v4 config files were corrupted after updating the software.

Resolution

  1. Go to the following location: C:\Program Files\Daktronics
  2. Open the following folder and delete the following file in folders. Right-click each file and click Delete.
    • Nucleus Server Folder - Nucleus Server.exe.config file
    • Venus 1500 V4 Folder - Venus1500.exe.config file
    • Content Studio Folder - ContentStudio.exe.config file
  3. Go to Add/Remove Programs or Programs & Features locate the Venus 1500 v4 install.
  4. Click Repair or Change/Remove (If XP, choose Repair option in Install Wizard).
