Venus 7000: Red RTL DB indicator on Venus 7000 shell

Potential Symptoms

  • Red status light in on instead of green on the Venus 7000 shell
  • Sign Service is running

Cause

The RTL database needs to be checked by the Venus software to make sure it is not corrupt

Resolution

  1. Open the Venus 7000 Shell
  2. Click on Diagnostics
  3. Click on RTL tab (farthest tab on the right)
  4. Click on Test RTL (this will turn Sign Service off and blank your display, so make sure it is okay to do so)
        

After the test is complete, Click OK and return to the shell, where the status light will be green
  1. If the RTL test does not successfully work the first time, close the V7000 shell, reopen it, and try the RTL test again
  2. If Sign Service does not start back up after the test, manually start it.

If the RTL DB light is still red, please contact Daktronics Customer Support.
