Time and Temp Display flashes when powered up then goes blank until DM-100 disconnected

Potential Symptoms

  • Digits flashed on when power given to display, then goes blank
  • When power disconnected from DM-100, display then shows time
  • Time shown cannot be edited or modified, but the receive light on driver does flash when trying to update display
  • First time fire up, or new protocol plug installed

Environment

  • DF-1010, DF-1011
  • DataTime
  • Time and Temp Display
  • DM-100 handheld

Cause

  • Protocol plug was set to pins 1 and 5, instead of 1 and 4. 
  • Having the protocol plug set to 1 and 5 will lock it in a timing function and make it so it cannot be edited, but will not damage the driver.

Resolution

  1. Change protocol plug to 1 and 4 or order a new protocol plug.
  2. Plug the properly pinned plug back into the driver.
  3. Power cycle the driver.
  4. Send out desired information to display.
