How to change the Com port settings in Venus 1500 Version 3

How do I adjust the Com port setting in Venus 1500 Version 3?

 

Environment

  • Venus 1500 Version 3 Software
  • Serial Communications

Resolution

  1. Click on Venus 1500 Administrator.

  2. Click on Network Configuration.

  3. At this point you can either modify the existing COM port settings or create a new network:

Modify existing Com port setting:

  1. Double click on network listed under Direct Networks.
  2. Change "Network Name" to reflect new COM port
  3. Change "COM ports" to correct COM port
  4. Click "OK"
To create new network:
  1. Right click on Direct Network and select New.
  2. In the Network Configuration Window:
    • Network Name: name it according the COM port being used (e.g. COM5 used for port COM5).
    • Network Type: "Direct Networks".
    • COM ports: Select the correct COM port from the drop down arrow box.
    • Press OK once all selections are filled out.
  3. Select the Display Configuration Box near the top.
  4. Expand the display configuration (e.g. Galaxy 32x64 RGB 32K).
  5. Double Click on the display name (e.g. Display 1).
  6. Select the Network that was just created (e.g. COM5) from the drop down menu next to Network.
  7. Open Venus 1500 Display Manager and verify communication.
