Windows Installer runs when selecting Venus 1500 v3.12

Potential Symptoms

  • Windows Installer keeps running when selecting Venus 1500 V3.

Environment

  • Venus 1500 (3.XX)
  • Windows XP

 

Cause

  • Hard Drive was Reformatted/Reimaged, and a backup was placed on it.  This can cause some Windows folders to duplicate.  IE Program Files and Program Files, Windows, or All Users and All Users. Windows.
  • This will cause the software to possibly install in the incorrect place, and not recognize the folder its installed in, and as such not operate correctly.

Resolution

  • If you can, rename the Folder so there is only one folder with the folder name do so.
  • Reformat the PC, and don't use the backup utility to copy files.
