Unable to start the Daktronics Nucleus Server, receiving error 1053

Potential Symptoms

  • Unable to start the Daktronics Nucleus Server.
  • Receiving error 1053 when trying to start the Daktronics Nucleus Server.

Environment

  • Venus 1500 (4.14.2)
  • Windows XP, Vista or 7

Cause

  • The Windows Modular Installer is not set to Manual or Started.

Resolution

Windows XP

  1. Go to Windows Start Menu -> Run -> Type services.msc -> Ok.
    • If run is not an option, right-click on My Computer, choose Manage. Go to Services & Applications -> Services.
  2. Locate the Windows Modular Installer.

  3. Right-click and choose Properties.
  4. Under Startup Type, change it to Manual.
  5. Under Service Status, click Start.

  6. Try launching Venus 1500 v4, Show Control Systems or Vanguard.

Windows Vista or 7

  1. Go to Windows Start Menu.
  2. In the bottom search bar type: Services
    • Services will filter into the Windows Start Menu.
  3. Click on Services with the gears in front.
  4. Locate the Windows Modular Installer.

  5. Right-click and choose Properties.
  6. Under Startup Type, change it to Manual.
  7. Under Service Status, click Start.

  8. Try launching Venus 1500 v4, Show Control Systems or Vanguard.
