GalaxyPro: How do I set up port forwarding for 2 or more displays.

Potential Symptoms

How do I set up port forwarding on two GalaxyPro displays.

Environment

  • DMP-4060
  • M4
  • GP4
  • Venus 1500
  • Ethernet

Resolution

The M4 plat formed displays (GPR, GPC, GP3) is designed to use ports 4500 to 4525 as the default communication ports.
If using two separate displays:
  •  One of the displays will need to have the ports changed because you cannot forward the same ports to two different IP addresses.
  • On the second display, connect using to the second display using one of the following methods.
    • GPR Display:
      • M4Config change the Ports from 4500-4525 to desired ports (suggest using 4600-4625).
Set up router to port forward these ports to the IP address of the display they were changed on. (Not a Daktronics responsibility)
    • GPC/GP3/GP4 Displays:
      • Using the User Interface (inputing the ip address followed by /?admin in internet explorer. Ex. xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/?admin) change ports in the same fashion as for the GPR displays.
Click on the send configuration button.
  • Set up router to port forward these ports to the corelating IP address of the display they were set on. (Not a Daktronics responsibility)
Once the ports have been setup need to set up Venus 1500 to use the correct IPs and corelating ports for the setup on the controller.
  1. In the Venus 1500 click the Orange V in the upper left corner.
  2. Click Displays then configure.
  3. Choose display and edit.
  4. Click continue, on the screen that shows the IP address; set IP address to WAN IP address (this is the static public IP the EU received from ISP),  unclick "Use Defaults" and change ports to match what is now on the controller.
  5. Click continue through the rest of the configuration and click Finish.
  6. Select other display in the "Display Management" window, click edit display.
  7. Set IP address to the same WAN IP as the other display. Click continue through rest of configuration and click finish.
  8. Verify communications.
