Vanguard V3 database file transfer to another PC

Potential Symptoms

How to transfer vanguard v3 software to another computer. Vanguard V3 files needed to restore a system after PC replacement or failure.

Resolution

  1. Install vanguard V3 on XP or older machine.
  2. At desktop, double click on My Computer icon.
  3. Double click on Local disk (C:)
  4. Double click on the Documents and Settings folder.
  5. Double click on the All Users folder.
  6. Double click on Application Data folder.  If folder is not listed,
  7. Check your Tools setting and select show hidden folders options.
  8. Double click on the Daktronics folder.
  9. Double click on the Vanguard V3 folder.
  10. Locate the following 4 files and copy them to a disk, flash drive or a network location. Vanguard.mdb, VGlobalDir.xml, VGroup.xml, VModelDir.xml

NOTE: Vanguard V3 Software is not supported on an operating system newer than XP. It is recommended to upgrade to Vanguard V4 Professional or Standard Software.
