UPS battery backup reports as reading

Potential Symptoms

UPS reports in the controller's peripheral menu as "Reading"

Environment

  • VFC-3000, VFC controller
  • UPS

Instructions

  1. Add UPS to VFC-3000 controller's peripheral list.
  2. Check cable between UPS & VFC-3000 controller.  Connect the cable to the AUXILLIARY port on the VFC-3000 controller. Make sure that this is not plugged into the primary serial port.
  3. Perform a software reset in the sub menu Reset only to save your changes. The controller will reboot.
  4. Wait a few minutes before checking the UPS status. The UPS will report AC LINE, or BATTERY depending if you have the UPS plugged into an AC outlet or not.
