Audio System Only Works With Analog Backup Turned On, Incorrect Fiber Box Wiring

Potential Symptoms

  • Sportsound audio system only works when the analog backup switch on the fiber box (0A-1534-0039) is in the "ON" position. When the switch is in the "OFF" position, the input to the Whirlwind EMOD (ADC1) will be shorted and will not allow digital signal to pass to the amplifiers via CobraNet.

Environment

  • Sportsound audio systems which include a fiber box separate from the control rack

Cause

  • The fiber box's analog backup switch was wired on the wrong side.

Resolution

  • Open the fiber box door and verify the switch pinout per the pictures below.

    NOTE: Verify wire jumpers are correct and that the cable connected to the switch pins 3, 1, 3 is connected to the Whirlwind EMOD (ADC1) on the opposite end of the cable.
