Galaxy/GalaxyPro, Display is dimming during the hottest times of the day and the internal display temperature is in-between 65°C and 70°C (148°F and 158°F)
Potential Symptoms
- M3 controlled Galaxy/GalaxyPro display is dimming during hot times of the day.
- Internal display controller temperature has reached to over 65°C/148°F but less than 70°C/158°F.
- This can be viewed under the status tab when connecting to the display with the M2Config utility tool, How To Connect To My Galaxy Display Using The M2Config Utility, DD2342173.

Cause
- The display is entering into thermal protection mode to protect the components on the controller.
Resolution
Recent testing has found that the M3 Controller High Threshold can be increased to 70°C (158°F) and maintain safe operating conditions for the components.
- Connect to the display using the M2Config utility tool, How To Connect To My Galaxy Display Using The M2Config Utility, DD2342173.
- Under the Configuration tab, go to Temperature.
- Change the High Threshold to 70°C.
- Setting threshold higher than 70°C can cause the display to overheat and damage components. The thresholds must be properly set or the warranty will be void.
- Change the Low Threshold to 60°C.
- Go to File and select Set Configuration. The display will reboot and start up with the new settings.
