One or more prices will not update; Loose Cable Connection

Potential Symptoms

  • One or more price lines not changing prices, but price displays connected earlier in the series are accepting price changes.
  • After cycling power, lines that would not change may show E4 or just a decimal.

Cause

  • Loose data (line to line) cable between last working driver and first driver not changing price.

Resolution

  1. Open sign cabinets for the last working price display and the first failing price display.
  2. Check cable connections (output of last working driver and input to first driver not changing price).
  3. Connect any obvious connection that has come loose or fallen out as well as reseat connections that look well connected.
    • Check for any obstructions in input/output jacks (plastic, dirt, coating, etc.) and clear if possible before reconnecting.
  4. Try changing price on all product lines to confirm communication.
