V7000: No display output when connected through the VLink. Bypassing VLink causes display to start working.

Potential Symptoms

  • No display output when connected through the VLink.
    Venus Content plays fine to the display when the VLink is BypassedBypassing VLink causes display to start working.  (Bypassing VLink means disconnecting the VLink completely by routing the fiber optic cable directly from the Venus 7000 computer to the fiber optic cable that goes to the Display. This can usually be done by connecting the fiber that is on the output of the VLink directly to the V7000 computer.)

Cause

  • VLink not outputting due to either bad settings or Hardware failure.

Resolution

  • Contact Daktronics support to evaluate settings.

For Temporary Operation

  • Bypass VLink and run fiber to VMax card on V7000 computer.  Note:  Only graphics and AVI's from the Venus computer will work until the VLink issue is resolved.
