How to send VIP channel configuration

Potential Symptoms

VIP was just repaired and requires configuration.

Need assistance configuring VIP.

Environment

  • Product Family: Video Processor
  • Product: VLink-3500, VIP-4000, VLink-4000, VLink-4400, VIP-4400, VIP-4500, VLink-4500, DMP-7000
  • Components: channel configuration
  • Control System: DMP-7000

Resolution

  1. Open V7 V-Link Controller and from the drop down menu "Sign:" Select the sign that is associated with the VIP you wish to save configuration for.
  2. Click "Details" Button in the lower left corner to expand the V7 V-Link Controller window.
  3. Click "Send Configuration Settings" button in lower left corner of expanded V7 V-Link Controller window.
  4. When Open window appears select the .VLC file with the most recent date in the name or if no dates are present in the name use best judgment on which .VLC files contain the correct settings for channel 1 and click open. Loading the setting make take a minute so be patient and wait for the VLink Configuration window to appear to confirm that settings have been set.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4, except substituting channels 2-4 for channel 1. Each channel needs to be loaded separately.
  6. Save config for V-Link power cycle by opening V7 VLink Debug and typing command: "cf s" (without the quotes) Click Send Command.
  7. If VxPort is used settings will need to manually be re-entered.
