VLink 4400 VLink 4500: How to reset to factory defaults?

How to XRD or factory reset a VLink/VIP 4000, 4400, 4500?

Environment

  • Product: VIP-4000, VLink-4000, VLink-4400, VIP-4400, VIP-4500, VLink-4500
  • Components: 
  • Control System: DMP-7000, VMAX 4

Steps

Disclaimer: This will delete any configuration on the VIP, be sure to backup configuration and VxPort settings. Refer to How to save configuration for VIP,DD2036611 if you are unsure of how to backup configuration. 

 *** Make sure you unplug any DVI/VGA connections on the VLink before you continue. You can plug them back in after you are done. ***
  1. Navigate to Start > All Programs > Venus 7000 > Venus 7000 Tools > V7 VLink Debug.
  2. Select the sign from the drop down menu that is associated with VIP, confirm "VLink Index" number.
  3. Type XRD in Command line, then press enter or click "Send Command" button.
  4. Wait a couple of minutes for the reboot to complete and Verify the VIP is communicating fully before starting the next step.    
  5. Type XR in the command line then press enter or click "Send Command" button.
  6. Again, wait a couple of minutes for the reboot to complete and then confirm proper operation.
  7. Reconfigure the VIP or load the configuration files. Type cf s when done to save the configuration to memory and prevent it from losing it during a power cycle.
