Primary-Primary Galaxy has one face blank and no communication, Failed controller

Potential Symptoms

  • First display face (ID1) is blank, second display (ID2) is running old content but unable to communicate to either display or update content.
  • There is no boot up on first display when power is cycled.
  • Controller on blank face has no LEDs lit even though there is proper 12 VAC voltage to controller.
  • May see a chip or component on the controller that looks charred, protective coating may be melted and component may be very hot to the touch.

Cause

  • Failed controller in first display.

Resolution

  • Replace controller in first display and set hardware (HW) addresses to match those of controller being replaced.
