Galaxy; power supply or power supply fuses fail or are blown repeatedly; poor grounding

Potential Symptoms

  • Module row is blank or partially blank on both sides.
  • Blown fuse/s may be found on power supply.
  • Many issues with power supply failing or power supply fuses blowing on primary face.
  • Ground resistance readings are too high (Ex. range from 80-100 ohms with the single ground rod).
  • Ground rod may not be properly installed (i.e. cut short and/or is sticking above ground and unable to push it further into the soil).
  • Ground resistance is high on current ground rod (above 25 ohms)

Cause

  • Power supply/fuses keep failing or blowing due to poor grounding.

Resolution

  1. Add additional ground rod/s, replace or fix improperly installed existing ground rod/s.
  2. Test ground resistance with a clamp on ground meter.
  3. Once resistance at or below 25 Ohms, install fuses or power supply and recheck display.
    1. Follow Local and National Electrical Code as well as the Display Installation manual
