Venus 1500 v4 won't load, receiving error "Nucleus Server failed to load" or "Venus 1500 encounter a problem and needs to close" or content Studio crashes

Potential Symptoms

  • Venus 1500 v4 won't load, receiving error "Nucleus Server failed to load" or "Venus 1500 encounter a problem and needs to close" or Content Studio crashes.
  • When launching Content Studio and the moment you click anywhere in the software (user interface) the software just crashes with no errors.
  • Errors do not show in Nucleus Log, Venus 1500 or Content Studio Log file.
  • Error shows in Windows Event Viewer.

Cause

  • Receiving error in event viewer ".NET Runtime version 2.0.50727 - Fatal Execution error" this is a possible bad installation of .NET framework(s).

         or

  • Receiving error in event viewer ".NET Runtime 2.0 Error Report"

Resolution

  • Try running repair on .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (Follow DD2078587)
    OR
  • End User IT department is going to need to fix the .NET Framework installs. This is not something Daktronics will fix due to being .NET. Suggest to have End User IT uninstall .NET Frameworks and manually install all and run security updates.
