Unable to communicate with display, GPR, Ethernet Wire

Potential Symptoms

  • Can't communicate with the display.

Environment

  • GPR
  • M4
  • Venus 1500 (4.x)
  • Ethernet, Wire
  • Display not connected to a router or switch.
  • Controller has 169. IP address range.

Cause

  • M4 Controller is set to Auto DHCP. IP address has changed due to power loss to the controller.
  • Venus 1500 does not have the correct IP address or DHCP name for the display.

Resolution

  • Cycle power to the display to find out the IP address of the controller.
  • Set the computer network adapter to match that IP address.
  • Change the Display to use a static IP address by following the steps listed in DD1994538.

Work Around

  • Change the IP address of the display in Venus 1500.
