FL-2000/4000, dim after installing driver, its set to low manual dimming

Potential Symptoms

  • Gas price display digits are dim after installing replacement driver but other displays are correct brightness.
  • New digits are still dim on this price line.
  • Dim or brightness does not change when testing the photocell with new or old driver.

Environment

  • Product: Fuelight or DataMaster, FL-2000, FL-2100, FL-2109, FL-2300, FL-4000, DF-2000, DF-2009, DF-2100, DF-2109, DF-2300, DF-4000, Gas Price or Petroleum Displays
  • Component: Dimming
  • Control System: DM-100, FLR-500/RC-100, FLR-1500, or FLD-2000 (communication options)

Cause

  • Replacement driver is set on either low manual dimming setting or low max intensity auto dim setting.

Resolution

  1. Go to dimming section on DM-100 or RC-100 (number 3 button).
  2. Select auto dimming.
  3. Verify max intensity is set to an appropriate level (max 16).
  4. Press enter to update display.
  5. Verify all displays are now the same brightness.
