Wireless console operating multiple scoreboards, Radio Broadcast and Channel Settings Identical

Potential Symptoms

  • Two wireless scoreboards operating in the same area that are interfering with each other.
  • Scoreboards that are on different fields are turning on when signal from console is present.
  • Console from one gym is interacting or interferring with scoreboards from another gym.

Environment

  • Product: Scoreboard
  • Component: MX-1, RC-200, All sport, RC-100
  • Control System: Dak Score App

Cause

  • Both scoreboards operating on the same Broadcast and Channel.

Resolution

  1.  Power cycle scoreboard to show POST which will reveal broadcast and channel settings of each scoreboard involved if using a radio receiver. (Note: RC-100 and RC-200 base station receivers typically don't show Bcast or Channel information during bootup, so settings will need to be verified on the receiver themselves).
    • If scoreboards show different broadcast and channel settings then use those settings on console(s) to communicate with them
    • If scoreboards show identical settings set each scoreboard on different radio settings, either channel or broadcast group.
      1. Remove receiver from the scoreboard.
      2. Open the case by taking the 4 #1 Philips screws out of the cover.
      3. Change either the jumper settings to modify Broadcast (Gen 5 radio) or turn the dial to change broadcast (Gen 6 radio) and or adjusted the channel with dial (Both Gen 5 and 6 radio)
      4. Do not adjust the function dial
    1. Close up the radio receiver and reboot the scoreboard.
    2. Set console to match each of the boards ensuring neither console is using B0C00.
