DVX display is dimming too early in the day

Potential Symptoms

  • DVX: Display is dimming too early in the day.

Environment

  • Venus 7000
  • DVX 800

Cause

  • Is the time zone set correctly on the V7000 computer?
  • In the Display tab, check the dimming level for the display - Verify what setting is.
    • If "Manual" set to full bright and test.
    • If "Photocell", change to manual 100% and test to verify if photocell is bad.
    • If "Astronomical" is selected, it will pull from time zone and can be adjusted from the Offset values to see if the dimming start time changes.
  • If using a VIP system, leave the VIP set to Auto and control from V7000 settings.

Resolution

  • Undetermined based on results found from Cause tests.

Work Around

  1. Set display for manual dimming at a level deemed appropriate for both night and day NIT values.
  2. Set a dimming schedule from V7000 to start/stop dimming at a specific time of day.
  3. Adjust the Astronomical dimming offset to adjust the time(s) the display dims.
