Galaxy (M2), Venus 1500 software showing memory full and BOOTLOADER message

Potential Symptoms

  • Venus 1500 v2 & v3 symptoms

    • Venus does get status: Status area in Venus shows Message: BOOTLOADER.
      Bootloader Message.png
    • Memory shows 0 bytes and full/all red in memory status bar.
    • Display may be blank, all on, or garbled.
    • No start up or boot up sequence after cycling power to sign.
    • Unable to send messages with Venus 1500 software.  Getting memory full error when trying to publish.
    • Unable to publish, clear memory, or defrag…gets an error, may also get a time error when getting status in Venus.

  • Venus 1500 v4 symptoms

    • Venus 1500 v4 may give the following Alert: Synchronize time zone File Not Found.
    • Unable to publish messages.

  • M2Config symptoms

    • When connecting with M2Config utility receive the following popup:

Environment

  • Product Family: Message Displays
  • Product: Galaxy: AF-3150, AF-3160, AF-3165, AF-3180, AF-3190, AF-3197, AF-3200, AF-3400, Electronic Message Center (EMC) or Board (EMB), Marquee, Readerboard, Display
  • Component: M2 Controller based products (3.10.1 or lower firmware)
  • Control System: Venus 1500 software version 3 or 4

Cause

  • Firmware is corrupted or missing (i.e. firmware file not being recognized).  

Resolution

  • Resend Firmware to the display.  Contact Daktronics Technical support for assistance.
  • OR:  Replace controller.
