Content is not Displaying Properly; Incorrect Matrix Settings on Controller
Potential Symptoms
- Messages are not displaying properly on the display. One of the following symptoms is occurring:
- Content is not centered.
- Messages are cut off / not fitting on the display correctly.
- Bottom line/s on the display are blank or distorted / garbled.
- Entire display appears distorted / garbled.
- Heartbeat LED is not flashing in the lower right hand corner of the display face. Either is not present or is in the wrong location.
- Start up sequence (boot up) is not in the correct position on the display.
- Start up sequence (boot up) is garbled or not readable on the display.
- Double image on start up of the display and on content. Looks like the content is split and playing on multiple spots on the display.
- When discovering the display with Venus 1500 software the matrix size discovered does not match the display size purchased.

- Component: M2, M3, or M4 Controller configuration, New controller installation
- Control System:
Cause
- Display size is not configured correctly on the controller in the display.
Note: Controllers ship out pre-configured and only need to be installed in display. If a controller is sent out with the incorrect configuration, report it to Daktronics Customer Service.
Resolution
- For M2 & M3 controlled products:
- Set display size to the correct sign matrix on the controller using M2Config. Follow: How to change the height and width of a Galaxy controller using M2Config?, DD2349798.
- For M4 controlled display (GPR):
- Call Daktronics Technical Assistance for help generating a new Translation Table for the display.
